Complete Monitoring Questions

Once a monitoring template has been selected, FieldOps automatically loads all of its sections and monitoring fields.

Field officers simply complete each question presented on the page. Responses are recorded against the visit and become part of its permanent record.

Monitoring Sections

Questions are grouped into sections to make large monitoring forms easier to complete.

For example:

General Information
Infrastructure
Staffing
Service Delivery
Observations
Recommendations

Complete each section before moving to the next.

Responding to Questions

The type of response depends on how each monitoring field was configured.

You may be asked to:

  • Enter short text
  • Enter numbers
  • Select a date
  • Choose from a dropdown list
  • Select a radio button
  • Select multiple options
  • Answer Yes or No
  • Provide detailed observations

Each field is designed to capture information in the most appropriate format.

Required Questions

Some monitoring fields are marked as required.

Required fields must be completed before the visit can be created.

If a required field is left blank:

  • The visit cannot be submitted.
  • The field is highlighted.
  • A validation message explains what needs to be completed.

Optional fields can be left blank if they are not applicable.

Validation

FieldOps validates responses before the visit is saved.

Validation helps ensure:

  • Required information is provided.
  • Numbers are entered in numeric fields.
  • Dates are entered using the date picker.
  • Responses match the selected field type.

This improves data quality and reporting accuracy.

Updating Responses

While creating a visit, you can update your responses at any time before saving.

Review each section carefully to ensure the information entered is complete and accurate.

Saving Your Work

After completing the monitoring questions and any other visit details, click Create to save the visit.

If validation passes:

  • The visit is created.
  • Monitoring responses are stored.
  • A snapshot of the monitoring template is preserved.
  • The visit becomes available for review and reporting.

💡 Best Practices

To improve the quality of monitoring data:

  • Complete questions in the order they appear.
  • Read each question carefully before responding.
  • Use comments and observations to provide additional context where appropriate.
