Integrations¶
Connect external data collection platforms to FieldOps and bring field submission data into your operational workflows.
FieldOps currently supports integrations with KoboToolbox and ODK Central.
Choose the platform your organization uses to get started.
-
KoboToolbox
Connect your KoboToolbox account, map a form to a FieldOps Programme, Project, Site, and optionally a Monitoring Template, then synchronize submissions into FieldOps.
-
ODK Central
Connect an ODK Central server and project, map an ODK form to the appropriate FieldOps operational structure, and synchronize submissions into FieldOps.
How integrations work¶
Connecting an external data collection platform to FieldOps generally involves two steps.
1. Create a connection¶
The connection allows FieldOps to communicate securely with the external platform.
Depending on the platform, you will provide details such as:
- Server or Base URL
- Account credentials
- Project information
You can use Test Connection to confirm that FieldOps can successfully communicate with the external platform before saving the connection.
2. Map a form¶
After creating the connection, create a form mapping.
A form mapping associates an external form with the appropriate FieldOps:
- Programme
- Project
- Site
- Monitoring Template, if applicable
The mapping tells FieldOps where synchronized submissions belong within your operational structure.
Synchronizing data¶
After creating a form mapping, you can use Sync Now to request an immediate synchronization.
FieldOps also performs automatic synchronization at configured intervals.
Note
Automatic synchronization runs periodically. Use Sync Now when you want to request synchronization immediately.
